The Tannery Arts Center is dedicated to providing an affordable, accessible and sustainable home for the Arts in Santa Cruz County.
The vision for the Tannery Arts Center is to create a home for the arts in Santa Cruz County dedicated to creating opportunities for individual artists and arts organizations, residents and visitors to create, explore, perform, exhibit, learn and enjoy the Arts.
The Tannery Arts Center will be built in three phases. Phase I, The Tannery Artist's Lofts Live Work Housing, has just begun construction. Phase II is the Working Studios and Phase III will be the Performing Arts Center. Following our
Groundbreaking on September 16, 2007, Artspace and DEVCON along with their many
subcontractors got busy preparing the site, drilling the pilings and pouring
the footings for the two buildings along the river which will house 100 units
of affordable housing.

On September 16, 2007 the Tannery Arts Center held a Groundbreaking Celebration which was attended by over 300 people who had waited a long time for this day. Click here for photographs from the event.
