I am a narrative painter working in acrylic and mixed media including collage and assemblage on paper, canvas and panel. I work from my personal themes and stories while striving for universally relatable metaphors. The work is often abstract, symbolic, bold and multi-layered both physically and in meaning.
I began creating jewelry as a creative release. I find that making jewelry is more like mediation than work. Over the years, my jewelry has explored my family history, my love of nature, and my love for the raw materials I use. I am fortunate to have a studio in Santa Cruz at the Tannery Art’s Center.
