These paintings embody a creative process similar to awake dreaming. It is a practice that connects and develops consciousness on various levels with the life I am living. It is a process that calls forth archetypal images of the psyche pertinent to daily experience. These paintings are not informed by a particular tradition, but have an innate shamanic function that is served in their making and in their presence.

My loose figurative paintings in acrylic, oil and encaustic depict life situations through place and archetypal figures. They function by attracting guidance, insights and information through the meaning making process of reflective metaphor work and by bringing local and world situations to a personal level and inviting an engagement of viewer through the archetype of the artist/shaman.
